A Poultry Farm Worker plays a key role in the daily operations and overall care of the farm. This position involves working closely with livestock, performing regular health checks to ensure that all birds are thriving and properly cared for. Responsibilities include monitoring feed and water levels, observing flock behavior for signs of illness or distress, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment for the poultry. In addition to animal care, the role requires performing general farm duties such as equipment maintenance, cleaning poultry houses, repairing fences, and assisting with routine farm operations. The ideal candidate is physically fit, attentive to detail, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong time management, reliability, and a willingness to learn are essential, as this role is critical to maintaining the health, productivity, and overall wellbeing of the farm’s livestock.
Poultry Farm Worker:
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed
Requirements:
Must be physically fit
Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Responsibilities
Ensure all birds have constant access to food and water
Walk through poultry houses to monitor flock health and identify sick or injured birds
Follow strict biosecurity procedures when entering and exiting poultry houses
On layer farms, assist with egg collection, cleaning, sorting, and packing into cartons
Maintain optimal house temperature for bird comfort and wellbeing
Conduct routine maintenance of the house, including watering and heating systems
Adjust house lighting according to bird requirements
Uphold high standards of animal welfare and care at all times
